Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Heart and Vascular/Cardiac ICU units. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, coordinating with healthcare team, educating patients and families, precepting new staff, serving as charge nurse, and ensuring adherence to unit policies. Specialties include neuro assessment and care for patients requiring neuro procedures, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and ECMO/advanced devices (LVAD/Impella/IABP). Unit descriptions cover CTICU, HVC ICU/Stepdown, and post-operative cardiac surgery care. Requires BSN preferred, CT licensure, and current RN license; opportunities for professional development and certification encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current Connecticut RN licensure
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
