Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive assessments of terminal illness patients to identify physical, psychosocial, environmental, safety, emotional, and spiritual needs while documenting findings on care plans. Perform pain assessments using the Edmonton Scale, manage equi-analgesic dosing, and implement timely interdisciplinary interventions for symptom control. Organize assignments to meet productivity standards, articulate disease progression and etiologies of symptoms, and modify care plans to address patient safety threats. Document care using A-I-R protocol, ensure proper sharps disposal and hand hygiene, and adhere to CHPC, Hospice Buffalo, and HIPAA policies. Work part-time in rotating shifts on the Inpatient Unit in Cheektowaga, NY, with a preference for Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure in the State of New York
- Valid Driver's License, free of serious violations
- Vehicle required for use when on duty or on-call
- Part-time (2 shifts/week) split shift RN, 10am-6pm with rotating holidays and every other weekend rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing
- Year of nursing practice as a professional nurse
