Job Summary
Conduct nursing assessments, administer psychiatric medications, and utilize crisis intervention techniques to stabilize individuals in acute mental health distress at the Crisis Intervention Center. Monitor patient status, document clinical activity, and educate patients and families on recovery strategies while collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Ensure regulatory compliance, uphold patient dignity, and support suicide prevention and trauma-informed practices in a 24/7 inpatient setting. Work every other weekend and holidays as part of the team transforming mental health care across northwest Kansas.
Required Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- current Kansas RN licensure (ADN or BSN)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- pass all required background checks (KBI, KDADS)
- Physically capable of working in high-pressure situations and responding to emergencies
- comply with TB testing and health screening protocols
- pass pre-employment drug screening
- maintain a valid driver's license
- No substance-related driving offenses in the past 5 years
Desired Qualifications
- one year of psychiatric nursing, crisis intervention, emergency care, or inpatient experience
