Job Summary
Monitor patients' medical status, signs, and symptoms of withdrawal while taking vitals, passing medications, and identifying acute needs related to mental health and substance use disorders. Provide direct patient care including medical examinations, implementation of medical orders, and treatment planning under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Service Director, and/or Program Director. Communicate with supervisors, medical providers, and community staff regarding patient concerns and execute public health education protocols for tuberculosis, STIs, hepatitis, and HIV prevention. Develop and review medical policies and procedures, serve on quality assurance committees, and document all assessments and treatments consistent with agency policy and New York State laws. This day shift role offers a flexible schedule with less physical demand than traditional settings, featuring a sign-on incentive up to $8,000 and hourly pay ranging from $40.00 to $45.00.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse currently registered by the New York State Department.
- At least one year of experience, or comparable training in the treatment of substance abuse and/or substance dependency.
- Basic computer skills required.
