Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Heart Failure/Cardiac ICU unit responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, supervising non-RN staff, and participating in coordination of care across the continuum. Roles include providing education, developing and documenting Plans of Care with patient/family involvement, readiness for discharge, and acting as preceptor and charge nurse. The unit supports advanced heart failure management and devices (e.g., intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, LVADs) and ECMO; opportunities exist in Neuro-focused care and various ICU/stepdown settings within the Cardiac ICU, CTICU, and related units. Requires licensure as an RN in the relevant state and adherence to standards of professional behavior; BSN is preferred and certification is encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
