Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) on a Neuro/Heart Failure-focused unit provides ongoing assessment of patients, develops and documents plans of care, collaborates with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate care, and coordinates discharge planning. The role includes supervision of non-RN staff, acting as Charge Nurse, and potential assignment to other nursing units as needed. Unit-specific duties cover neuro patient care, airway management including suctioning, care for tracheostomy patients, ventilated patients, and use of specialized cardiac ICU equipment. BSN preferred and CT licensure required; BCLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire. Emphasis on patient- and family-centered education and adherence to professional nursing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
