Job Summary
Registered Nurse on a Cardiac/Neuro-focused unit responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising patient care; serves as preceptor and charge nurse; provides education to patients and families; demonstrates competency in neuro assessment, airway management, tracheostomy care, endotracheal/ventilator support, and post-operative cardiac care within a Cardiac ICU setting (including LVAD/ECMO devices) and in units handling complex heart and vascular cases; collaborates with healthcare team to develop and revise care plans, ensures alignment with unit policies, and contributes to high-quality service and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
