Job Summary
Registered Nurse on the Heart Failure Unit provides comprehensive care to high-acuity cardiac patients, performing advanced assessments, continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and early detection of condition changes. RNs care for patients with chest tubes, large-bore central venous catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires, and participate in post-operative open-heart surgery and LVAD populations within a 36-bed unit. Requires ability to support a rotating day/midnight schedule, with weekends and holidays as required. Minimum 1 year RN experience; BSN preferred with commitment to obtain BSN within three years. Delaware RN licensure or eligibility is required; BLS is mandatory and ACLS preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BSN preferred; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire required
- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
- Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
