Job Summary
Compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed for in-home care in the Bushland, TX area with Giving Home Health Care. This 1099 contract role provides patient care at the patient’s residence, with flexible scheduling options ranging from weekly visits to 12-hour shifts or blended schedules. Responsibilities include executing physician-prescribed plans of care, documenting care in the system, administering medications and therapies, conducting patient assessments, coordinating care, assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vitals and intake/output, wound care, identifying changes in condition, communicating with family, physicians, and case managers, providing patient and family education, and supervising CNAs/HBAs. Must be a graduate nurse (RN or LPN) with an active license, CPR, TB test, and ability to travel to patient homes; background check required. Preferred qualifications include at least 1 year of RN/LPN experience in clinical or home health settings and ability to assist with two-person transfers.
Required Qualifications
- Education, licensing, and certification: graduate of an accredited college or university, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current State or Compact License as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- TB test and physical examination
- Maintain required insurance
- Good interpersonal skills
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients
- Ability to operate under stressful conditions and make quick decisions
- Must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute to the patient’s home
- Ability to provide basic medical management up to medically fragile end of life care
