Job Summary
Assess, identify, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, including administering treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests. Collaborate with professional disciplines to ensure effective patient outcomes and serve as a resource nurse during orientation. Provide education to patients and families while addressing cultural, spiritual, and emotional needs. Perform performance improvement techniques to demonstrate positive care outcomes. Maintain physical well-being to assist with lifting, moving patients, and maneuvering equipment up to 50 pounds. Navigate halls, stairways, and emergency situations while interpreting environmental input. Manage exposure to infectious wastes and body fluids with appropriate PPE. Requires current Arkansas licensure and proficiency in communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current licensure in the State of Arkansas
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to practice nursing as described by the definition: The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations
- Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including administering prescribed treatments, medications and diagnostic tests
- Ability to formulate a plan of care using the problem list
- Ability to collaborate with other health care providers
- Ability to provide education to patients and/or significant others
- Ability to assist with lifting and moving patients
- Ability to push carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment
- Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend over to perform certain duties
- Ability to maneuver throughout halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies
- Visual and auditory skills
- Ability to write and perform computer entry
- Ability to travel to various departments
- Ability to wear gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles when exposed to infectious wastes and body fluids
- No active engagement in the use of medical marijuana
