Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned adult medical patients, including those with small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for care delivery and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly alongside prolonged standing and walking. Work full-time days (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
