Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adults with diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments and maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values, and service standards. Full-time schedule of 36 hours per week, days shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience
