Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Acute Care) with Day shift at Wellstar. Provides patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team, performing the nursing process from assessment through evaluation, coordinating care with diverse team members, and maintaining high-quality, safe patient care. Demonstrates relationship-based care, adapts care to cultural needs, engages with patients and families, and supports performance improvement initiatives. Key duties include planning and delivering care per clinical standards, documenting clearly, participating in interdisciplinary rounds and shared governance, serving as a preceptor/mentor for staff and students, promoting evidence-based practice, and upholding organizational policies and safety goals. Requires active nursing licensure (Georgia), BLS certification, and successful completion of nursing education program (associates/diploma/bachelor’s with bachelor’s preferred). The role emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and commitment to high-quality patient outcomes in an oncology/acute care setting.
Required Qualifications
- RN license (Georgia)
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support
- RN license compact if applicable
- Completion of accredited nursing program (Associates or Diploma or Bachelors nursing)
- Minimum one year direct patient care experience (preferred)
- Able to perform nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Preceptor/mentoring ability (preferred)
- Nursing degree or higher (Associates or Diploma or Bachelor's)
- Ability to work day shift in oncology/acute care setting
