Job Summary
Conduct initial home visits and provide one-on-one training for dialysis patients on peritoneal and home hemodialysis using state-of-the-art equipment. Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care while administering medications and managing emergency responses under supervisor direction. Direct home care partners in the safe operation of dialysis equipment and maintain accurate data documentation for assigned patients. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify barriers to home treatment and support staff training as a Team Leader. Rotates coverage with other licensed home therapies staff and participates in on-call rotations, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
- Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
- Must have a minimum of 12 months experience as a RN
- Successful completion of all FKC education and training requirements for new employees
- Successful completion of 3 months experience as a RN in home peritoneal dialysis and / or hemodialysis
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs as high as 5 feet
- Must be able to move machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
- Must be available for on-call rotation
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holiday shifts
- Must be available for travel to training sites, other facilities or patient homes
- Must be able to perform essential functions in other locations including patient's home
Desired Qualifications
- Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
- Home dialysis therapy experience (preferred)
