Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants in accordance with regulations and facility policies. Lead daily activities of nursing staff, promote holistic resident care, participate in admissions/discharges/transfers, assess changes in residents’ status and notify physicians/family, transcribe orders, administer medications, perform wound care and IV procedures, schedule follow-up appointments, ensure adequate supplies, participate in QAPI and infection control efforts, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to holistically meet residents’ needs. Strong leadership, clinical nursing skills in geriatrics, medication administration, wound care, infection control, and adherence to policies are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state
- 1+ years of clinical nursing experience (geriatrics preferred)
- Ability to supervise certified nursing assistants and resident care associates
- Ability to prepare and administer medications and perform wound care as per physician orders
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary team
