Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise CNAs in accordance with federal/state regulations and facility policies. Responsibilities include supervising daily nursing activities, administering prescribed medications, performing wound care and IV therapy, tube feedings, colostomy care, and rounds to assess resident needs. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers; document orders, follow physicians’ orders, and liaise with families. Lead the nursing team, collaborate with the interdisciplinary staff, ensure infection control, participate in QAPI activities, and update care plans as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state
- 1+ years of clinical nursing experience, geriatrics preferred
- Ability to administer medications and observe for adverse effects
- Competence in wound care, IV administration, colostomy changes, tube feedings, suctioning
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and supervise CNAs and staff
- Familiarity with policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control
