Job Summary
Provide direct patient care across multiple inpatient units using the nursing process, including medication administration, specimen collection, and activities of daily living. Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team while documenting care accurately. Float throughout the building to support departments and collaborate with interprofessional teams on transfers, discharges, and referrals. Participate in performance improvement, required education, and on-call assignments as needed. Assess learning needs and provide patient and family education.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1-2 years minimum bedside RN experience
- 2-4 years critical care experience
- Current RN license in state of practice
- Active Kentucky license (single state or compact)
- BCLS certification
- Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
- Ability to successfully complete a Cardiac Rhythms Test within 30 days of hire
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems
- Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- 2-4 years critical care experience preferred
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Handle with Care certification
- Clinical Ladder Eligible - increase base pay by completing the clinical ladder levels
