Job Summary
Provide direct patient care across multiple inpatient units using the nursing process, administering treatments, and assisting with activities of daily living. Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team while documenting care accurately. Float throughout the building to support departments and staff, collaborating with interprofessional teams to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals. Advocate for patient well-being and provide age-appropriate education. Participate in performance improvement, required education, and on-call assignments as needed. This role supports a 295-bed acute care facility in Somerset, Kentucky, serving an 11-county area.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Current RN license in state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1-2 years minimum bedside RN experience
- BCLS certification
- Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
- Ability to successfully complete a Cardiac Rhythms Test within 30 days of hire
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems
- Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand)
- Demonstrated flexibility to float where needed
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements
- Occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling
- Days Full Time 6:30-7:00 Rotating Weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 2-4 years critical care experience
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Handle with Care certification
