Registered Nurse (RN), Float Critical Care / ICU

Registered Nurse (RN) Float ICU/Neuro unit responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Provides supervision of non-RN personnel, may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, and may work on other nursing units as needed. Responsibilities include continuous patient condition assessment, care planning with the patient and family, coordination with the healthcare team, education for patients/families, precepting new staff, and ensuring high-quality service. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, care of trached patients, and involvement in special neuro procedures; familiar with Halo brace care and ventilator management. Requires BSN preferred, 1 year acute nursing experience, and BLS; Connecticut RN licensure or eligibility, with emphasis on neuro/critical care skills.
