Job Summary
Registered Nurse on Neuro and Cardiac ICU units with responsibilities including assessing patients, developing and documenting care plans, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, supervising non-RN staff, serving as preceptor and charge nurse, and providing specialized care for neuro and post-operative cardiac patients (e.g., ventilated patients, tracheostomy care) in ICU settings such as CTICU/CCU and HVC. May require working on other units per distribution of staff and patients; opportunities for professional development within SPIRE program and adherence to unit standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
