Job Summary
Provide patient-centered nursing care in Neuro/Cardiac ICU units under supervision, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care; supervise non-RN personnel, function as charge nurse, and precept new staff. Responsibilities include developing and documenting plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, and performing advanced neuro assessments and procedures (neuro suctioning, tracheostomy care, airway management). Unit-specific roles cover CTICU, neuro and cardiovascular ICU care, with exposure to devices such as IABP, Impella/VADs, ECMO, and CRRT. Education requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program with BSN preferred and current BCLS certification; Connecticut RN licensure with potential clinical certification encouraged.
