Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Float Critical Care/ICU with responsibilities spanning assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care on a neuro-focused unit. Provides supervision of non-RN personnel, serves as charge nurse, and may rotate to other Nursing units as distributed. Key duties include developing and documenting individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, precepting new staff, and ensuring high levels of service. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, including neuro assessment, airway management, care of trached patients, and involvement in neuro procedures. Supports the organization’s teaching programs (e.g., Tia Teaching Program) and adheres to unit policies. Requires strong teamwork, customer service, and ongoing professional development, with potential to function across ICU/Neonatal ICU settings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing
- BSN Preferred
- Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records
- Must Have Ability To Use Internet For Literature Searches Regarding Care For Patients
- 1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
