Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Short Stay (SSU) Observation Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital. Flexi/PRN – Days. Responsible for providing competent nursing care using the nursing process in a high-support unit with an 18-bed SSU, supporting post-procedural monitoring, TIA workups, stress tests, and radiology procedures. Collaborates with a coordinated team of educators, unit coordinators, and a nurse manager; supports new graduates and experienced RNs seeking skill expansion. Requires current RN licensure (BSN/MSN preferred) and BLS within 90 days of hire; magnet designation and stroke-center designation highlighted as features of the unit; opportunities for clinical development and professional advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Education Students in process of obtaining Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Certification/Licensure Students in process of obtaining Registered nursing licensure
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
