Job Summary

Assess patients, administer medications and treatments, and coordinate referrals within a multispecialty clinical setting. Perform physical exams, conduct clinical triaging, and screen walk-in patients to determine care needs. Execute provider orders, monitor patients during and after procedures, and recognize adverse symptoms for rapid response. Educate patients on self-care and procedure management while documenting all care accurately in the electronic health record. This role supports high-quality patient care at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Killeen, TX, emphasizing patient-centered service in a mission-focused military treatment facility.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • Associates Degree of Nursing
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • one (1) year of clinical or inpatient experience, post-education/graduation and post-licensure, within the last two (2) years providing direct care in multispecialty inpatient or outpatient clinical settings
  • recent hands-on proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nurse care for patients across diverse medical and surgical specialties in accordance with current professional nursing standards
  • Professional Certification (s): Family Medicine: ACLS, BLS approved by AHA or American Red Cross, PALS, NRP
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
  • Must have appropriate TB test documentation within the last year
