Job Summary
Administer care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Prioritize patient care needs based on assessment and implement plans consistent with physician orders, hospital policy, and departmental protocols. Maintain current Texas RN licensure and obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certifications before providing direct patient care. Work night shift full-time at UT Health Jacksonville's Level IV trauma center, which includes 33 operational beds, an ICU, and acute stroke readiness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN license
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation
Desired Qualifications
- One year of emergency nursing experience
- Two years of acute care nursing experience
- CEN
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
