Job Summary
Registered Nurse for Inova Fairfax Hospital EmPATH Psychiatric Observation Unit (day and night PRN). Provides knowledgeable clinical practice, care coordination, and holistic patient-centered care in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Role may float to Behavioral Health Emergency Department PODs. Requires 1 year RN clinical experience and active RN licensure in the state of employment. BSN preferred; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years. BLS and ACLS (within 6 months) required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency with computers. May involve inpatient psychiatric care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1; ER/psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
- BSN from an accredited nursing program; if RN has an ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years of start date
- BLS certification required, ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Proficient in English; strong verbal and written communication skills; caring demeanor
- Proficient computer skills
