Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for EmPATH Psychiatric Observation Unit on a 3x12-hour day/night rotation at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Full-time role involves biopsychosocial assessments, medication administration, care coordination, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to support adult patients. Requires BSN (or ADN with BSN within 5 years), 1 year RN experience, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and Virginia RN licensure. The unit emphasizes safe, patient-centered care with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and potential float to Behavioral Health Emergency Department PODs. Required Qualifications
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing (RN)
- If RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
- BLS certification required
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Experience: 1 year of RN clinical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Preferred: Emergency Department experience, Expedited Observation experience, Psychiatric nursing experience (inpatient or ambulatory)
