Job Summary
Provide patient-focused nursing care for acutely ill or injured patients in the emergency and urgent care setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity level, while monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to ensure holistic, compassionate treatment. Perform basic respiratory services including capnography, pulse oximetry, and administration of supplemental oxygen and nebulized aerosolized treatments. Facilitate patient transfer and discharge, and adhere to established laboratory procedures and safety guidelines. Work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide well-coordinated care and maintain composure during emergency situations. Participate in staff assessment, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development. Night shift PRN availability required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas (or compact license with the State of Texas)
- Current certification in BLS
- Current ACLS and PALS
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department Setting
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to Freestanding Emergency Centers in addition to the practice of nursing
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Must be flexible on Night shift
- Must be able to lift and move more than 10 lbs
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs
