Job Summary
Provide patient-focused nursing care for acutely ill or injured patients in the emergency and urgent care setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity, while monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions. Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver coordinated care, facilitate patient transfers and discharge, and perform basic respiratory services including capnography and oxygen administration. Adhere to established laboratory procedures and safety guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with Texas Board of Nursing standards. Maintain composure during emergency situations and participate in departmental meetings, policy development, and staff training initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas (or compact license with the State of Texas)
- Current certification in BLS
- Current ACLS and PALS
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department Setting
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to Freestanding Emergency Centers
- Knowledge of the practice of nursing
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Must be able to lift and move more than 10 lbs
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs
