Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Monitor and communicate patient conditions to physicians and families while assisting with activities of daily living. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals, and provide patient education and emotional support. Document all care interventions and advocate for patient well-being in a high-stress environment requiring critical thinking and minimal supervision. Requires an active Tennessee RN license, Associate's degree, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee license (single-state or compact)
- Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire
- STABLE certification within 90 days of hire
- Handle With Care (HWC) certification within 6 months of hire
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
- Licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC)
- BSN
