Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, determine care priorities, and implement immediate interventions while formulating and evaluating plans of care in collaboration with medical staff. Adhere to IHN policies and procedures throughout all clinical activities. Maintain current New Jersey licensure and complete required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and cardiac dysrhythmia within six months of hire. This full-time Emergency Room role requires a BSN or MSN program enrollment within six months of hire, with graduation by the third anniversary. Candidates must have one year of clinical experience, with two years in the ED preferred for per diem positions. The position includes mandatory completion of Trauma Nurse Core Courses within 12 months and ongoing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing
- American Heart Association BLS
- American Heart Association ACLS
- American Heart Association PALS
- CPI initial for new hires to be completed within the introductory period, and renewal every 18 months
- Cardiac dysrhythmia
- Critical Care Course within 1 year (or 2 years CC experience or current CEN)
- Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Courses taught by the Emergency Nurses Association within 12 months of initial assignment or followed by a minimum of 8 contact hours of education every two (2) years in trauma assessment, intervention, and stabilization
- One-year clinical experience
- Two (2) years ED experience preferred for per diem positions
Desired Qualifications
- BSN or MSN graduates preferred
- National Certification in specialty area preferred
