Job Summary
Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical needs. Direct patient and family teaching while guiding nursing personnel to maintain professional standards. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in clinical condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. Respond quickly to changes in patient status and treatment responses. Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report child or adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
Desired Qualifications
- ER setting preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
