Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Job Summary
Perform the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients in the emergency department. Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care while partnering with families for bedside reporting and teaching. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds, documentation, and safe quality care delivery within the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. Complete mandatory education, serve as a preceptor or mentor, and participate in performance improvement and research activities. Maintain licensure and certifications including BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC while adhering to Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act standards. Requires five years of RN experience and a BSN preferred. Night shift (7 pm - 7 am).
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support or ARC-PALS - Amer Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor or PALS-P - PALS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN - Adv Trauma Care for Nurses Cer or TNCC-P - Trauma Nurse Core Course - Provisional (18 Months) within 18 Months
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS-P90 - ACLS-Provisional (90 Days) within 90 Days or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- Minimum 5 years RN experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
- Possess excellent time management skills
