Job Summary
Provide knowledgeable clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team needs. Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner using an integrated approach toward patient outcomes. Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Experienced behavioral health nurses and Overflow unit staff assist the team in caring for non-emergency patients. Work full-time day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with five weekend shifts per 6-week period. Requires one year of critical care nursing experience or completion of a critical care fellowship, plus an active Virginia RN license and BLS certification. BSN or AD degree required.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship
- BSN or AD
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through American Heart Association
- Proficient in English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others
- Proficient computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Two years ED experience
