Registered Nurse (RN)- Emergency Department (FT Nights)

Job Summary

Perform the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for emergency department patients. Provide relationship-based, culturally diverse care while partnering with patients and families for bedside shift reports and teaching. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication, complete timely documentation, and participate in shared governance and performance improvement activities. Mentor preceptors and staff, lead value analysis, and develop protocols to reduce re-admissions and adverse events. Maintain current certifications in BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC while adhering to Georgia Nurse Practice Act and TJC safety goals. Work full-time nights from 7pm to 7am in a fast-paced environment requiring decisive, composed emergency response.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
  • RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
  • PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support or ARC-PALS - Amer Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor or PALS-P - PALS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
  • TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN - Adv Trauma Care for Nurses Cer or TNCC-P - Trauma Nurse Core Course - Provisional (18 Months) within 18 Months
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
  • Ability to read, write and speak English language
  • Optimizes the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
  • Possess excellent time management skills
  • Practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills
