Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while providing direct services within the Emergency Department. Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in clinical condition, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology, responding quickly to treatment changes. Accountable for patient care in the ED, including reporting child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Workers in compliance with EMTALA regulations. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current
- ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education
- Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current
- Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain
- Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
