Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department responsible for rapid patient triage and assessment, care-plan execution in a fast-paced ED, medication administration, and compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborates with physicians, technicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals; provides patient advocacy and education regarding treatment and post-discharge care; maintains accurate documentation per Sentara policies. Requires ADN (BSN preferred), Virginia or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and PALS/ENPC within specified timelines; acute care ER experience strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Virginia or compact multistate license
- BSL certification within 90 days of hire
- ACLS certification
- PALS or ENPC certification within one year of hire
- Previous acute care hospital experience required
- Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
