Job Summary
Assess, prioritize, and triage patients with acute illness, injury, and life-threatening conditions using established clinical protocols. Deliver emergency nursing care, treatments, and life-saving interventions while administering medications, blood products, and IV therapies. Monitor patient status, interpret clinical findings, and communicate changes to the healthcare team. Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, diagnostic testing, and patient stabilization. Operate and monitor emergency and life-support equipment. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary team. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive clinical outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current
- Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire
- NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain
Desired Qualifications
- E.R. setting preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred
