Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department in Atrium Health Lake Norman (Cornelius, NC) Part-time/PRN role with 0 hours/week baseline and 36 hours every 6 weeks. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care; engaging patients and families; monitoring patient conditions; coordinating with care teams; promoting safety and quality initiatives; administering medications and therapies per protocols; maintaining EHR documentation; and potential floating to other units or facilities within the service area. Requires graduation from an approved nursing program, active RN license, BLS certification, and typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience. BSN is preferred; strong clinical judgment, communication, time management, and teamwork skills are essential. Must meet age-specific care requirements and adhere to ethical standards and professional development expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges in the state(s) where providing care
- Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- Proficiency with nursing process: assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate
- Ability to float to other units, departments, or facilities within service area as needed
- Ability to provide care appropriate to age-specific patient needs and maintain documentation
- Knowledge of safety, ethical standards, and adherence to ANA Code of Ethics
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient/family engagement skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with technology and electronic records
- BSN preferred may be noted as preferred in description
