Job Summary
Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides patient-centered care, collaborating with unit teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care; communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff; ensures accurate documentation; delegates to licensed and non-licensed staff; adheres to safety and policy guidelines; and participates in departmental activities and education. Position requires a nursing license in IA or a compact state, BLS certification, and ongoing emergency nursing training (TNCC/ENPC within stated timelines). Preferred: BSN.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training (training must be submitted to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date).
- Emergency Departments-specific: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire if not current; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 18 months of employment.
