Registered Nurse (RN) Days

The Registered Nurse (RN) on Days at MediLodge of Richmond plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff. Responsibilities include initiating and leading team conferences for individualized care plans, assessing and documenting residents' conditions, implementing physicians' orders, assigning nursing care to team members, supervising RNs/LPNs/LVNs and CNAs, administering medications and starting IVs, participating in orientation and in-service training, assisting physicians with tests and procedures, ensuring supplies and equipment are maintained safely, reporting pertinent observations, coordinating nursing care with therapy or procedures, interviewing applicants and participating in staff counseling/terminating actions, supervising the nursing unit (scheduling and directing staff), and performing other assigned tasks. Skills include directing and motivating staff, teamwork, effective communication with residents and families, quick decision-making in emergencies, training techniques for clinical staff, and maintaining confidentiality.
