Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care Float Pool responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, serving as a preceptor and charge nurse, and ensuring high-quality patient care across Neuro and Cardiac ICUs. Requires BSN preferred, CT RN licensure, and BCLS certification with active engagement in ongoing professional development. The role emphasizes critical care competencies such as neuro assessment, airway management, ventilator care, tracheostomy and post-operative cardiac/vascular care, with responsibilities including documentation, discharge planning, patient and family education, and adherence to organizational standards and values.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- BCLS certification required or must obtain within one month of hire.
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
