Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care Float Pool: Provides comprehensive nursing care for neuro and cardiac ICU patients, including developing and implementing individualized plans of care, supervising non-RN personnel, acting as charge nurse, and precepting new staff. Requires strong skills in neuro assessment, airway management, tracheostomy/ventilator care, suctioning, post-operative and critical-care management, education of patients and families, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to nursing standards and hospital policies. BSN preferred; CT licensure required; BCLS certification required within one month of hire; opportunities for professional development within SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Experience as RN; eligible for SPIRE clinical advancement program
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
