Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac/Neuro ICU float pool provides comprehensive patient care across Nursing Units under supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and implementing care plans, coordinating with the healthcare team, supervising non-RN personnel, serving as charge nurse when needed, and potentially working on other units. Requires nursing degree with CT licensure; BSN preferred. CPR/BCLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire; clinical specialty certification encouraged. Complex neuro and cardiac care competencies include airway management, ventilator/ECMO/assist devices, tracheostomy care, and post-operative management across high-acuity cardiac/neurological cases. Emphasis on patient-centered care, education for patients/families, teamwork, and adherence to standards and policy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
