Job Summary
Manage individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through assessment, planning, and implementation of treatments in accordance with South Shore Hospital policies. Administer medications, complete reconciliation processes, and document narcotic withdrawals and discrepancies per SSH standards. Develop, evaluate, and update prioritized plans of care while initiating admission assessments within eight hours of patient arrival. Conduct continuous reassessments for comfort, pain management, and safety indicators such as falls and skin integrity. Verify patient identification with two identifiers prior to invasive procedures and comply with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and universal precautions. Foster a culture of safety by understanding roles during hospital codes and emergency preparedness. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to represent patient needs and facilitate timely discharge or transfer. Utilize Lotus Notes and departmental software applications while maintaining awareness of downtime protocols.

- RN - Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Emergency Response Training Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous Acute Care RN experience
