Job Summary
Manage individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through assessment, planning, and implementation of care for critical care patients. Administer medications per SSH policies, complete reconciliation processes, and document narcotic withdrawals and discrepancies. Develop and update prioritized plans of care, initiate admission assessments within eight hours, and reassess patient comfort using appropriate pain scales. Verify patient identification with two identifiers prior to invasive procedures, comply with CDC hand hygiene guidelines, and foster a culture of safety. Collaborate with patients and families to represent their needs, raise ethical concerns, and facilitate discharge by noon. Document all care following department policies and nurse-sensitive indicators, utilize Lotus Notes and required software applications, and maintain professional development through evidence-based practice and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Previous Acute Care RN experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Emergency Response Training Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
