Job Summary
Manage individualized, outcome-oriented nursing care through assessment, planning, and documentation in adherence to South Shore Hospital policies. Administer medications, verify patient identification, and maintain accurate records for narcotic withdrawal and waste counts. Develop and update prioritized plans of care, initiate admission assessments within eight hours, and reassess patient comfort and needs continuously. Foster a culture of safety by complying with CDC hand hygiene guidelines, universal precautions, and emergency preparedness protocols. Collaborate with the clinical team to resolve ethical questions, communicate daily plans via whiteboard, and facilitate discharge or transfer by noon. Uphold patient and family-centered care by respecting preferences, welcoming family participation, and utilizing interpreter services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Emergency Response Training Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous Acute Care RN experience
