Job Summary
Assess, plan, and provide outcome-oriented nursing care for critical care patients by administering medications, performing medication reconciliation, and documenting narcotic discrepancies per SSH policy. Develop individualized plans of care, initiate admission assessments within eight hours, and reassess patient comfort using appropriate pain scales. Verify patient identification before invasive procedures, comply with CDC hand hygiene guidelines, and facilitate discharges by noon while communicating barriers via the chain of command. Foster a culture of safety, address ethical questions with the clinical team, and utilize Lotus Notes and departmental software. Work nights from 7pm to 7:30am three days per week in a 36-hour schedule. Maintain at least five contact hours annually for professional development and practice within the legal boundaries of the MA Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous Acute Care RN experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Emergency Response Training Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
