Registered Nurse RN – Congestive Heart Failure Unit

Registered Nurse on the Cardiac ICU/Cardiothoracic units focused on heart failure patients. Responsibilities include assessing and planning individualized patient care, implementing and evaluating plans, supervising non-RN personnel, serving as charge nurse, and acting as a preceptor for new staff. Performs neuro assessments, airway management, and procedures such as airway suctioning and care for trached patients. Provides care for post-operative cardiac patients (CABG, valve replacements) and patients requiring advanced support (LVAD, ECMO, etc.). Works within the heart and vascular ICU teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and participates in education after assessments, family involvement, and discharge planning.
