Job Summary
Registered Nurse on a Cardiac ICU/Heart Failure unit provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized plans. Oversees non-RN staff, assumes charge nurse duties, and may work on other nursing units as needed. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, collaborating with the healthcare team, and participating in specialized care such as neuro-focused assessments, airway management, tracheostomy care, and support for complex cardiac patients (e.g., post-CABG, LVAD, ECMO-ready scenarios). The role emphasizes applying NP/clinical competencies, patient-centered care, and adherence to nursing standards and policies. Desired qualifications include BSN, CT state RN licensure, BCLS, and ongoing professional development; opportunities for clinical advancement and professional growth are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred or higher
- BCLS certification (or obtain within one month of hire)
